A Short Satire..."Gang Violence Overruling Peace"

This is a short satire I made about gang Violence and Peace...Beware of SARCASM!!

Gang Violence Overruling peace

Wow, who doesn't love some bittersweet violence. This is our daily dose of belligerence. Just imagine the world without gang violence. It would be soooo boring and benumb. So here is the solution from removing peace from our communities.

First, we rally all gangs together and begin war about blasphemous things. Only to see that we are killing each other and ruining  hope for our future generations. This will surely decrease the population from billions to a couple of hundred thousand.
Secondly, we give weapons and illegal drugs to our upcoming teens so that they may sell them and make an extravagant profit. At least the U.S want be in debt anymore.
Third we encourage our young ones to become affiliated with gangs. Make sure your cousins. Nieces, nephews, sons, daughters and even the newborns know that gangs and violence is the best thing anyone can have!
I mean what’s the worst that could happen; we all get flared with AK47 bullets. This would be such a phenomenon.
Doing these things will give our policeman a break. If gangs overrule the city then no one can stop the violence. (It’s not like they do their jobs anyways).
In conclusion I believe that we agree to keep violence in the community. Let’s continue to let these frivolous  or minor things ruin the peace in our communities. After all it is a GOOD THING RIGHT?

Kendrick Johnson, Accident or MURDER

Do we pay attention to the things that go on in today's society. So many people are killing each other for no reason at all. Kendrick Johnson, a high school athlete recently was killed. The state of Georgia is continuing to work on the case. he was found in his high school gym wrapped inside of a mat. many say that Kendrick's death was an accident but in my opinion this is foul play:MURDER.
We really won't to know the truth so that Kendrick may have JUSTICE. This will not be another Trayvon Martin case. CNN has obtained surveillance video, which was part of what the judge ordered released, showing Kendrick walking along a school hallway and into the gym where he was later found dead. Another student is seen walking in ahead of him.
There is plenty of evidence that is obtained from the school showing that Kendrick walked into the gym and never came out.  While other student s seem to miraculously never notice Kendrick  Johnson walking into the the gym. from my understanding Kendrick was minding his own business and being a teenager and sadly his life came to an end. He was beaten to death. He felt pain and agony. He thought he would walk out of school that day alive and spend time with his family. Sadly , Kendrick is no longer with us. Emmitt Till, Trayvon Martin, and now Kendrick Johnson; what more can society take. We must serve our nation well and have justice for Kendrick Johnson.

Affimative Action Controversy

Has anyone really paid attention to the Affirmative Law Controversy in Michigan. On November 7, 2013 students in Michigan protested about the conflicts with the Affirmative Law conflict. Affirmative Law simply states that the state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education or public contracting."
Really what is our society really coming to. Why go against something that is truly fair. No one has the right to discriminate anyone due to their color, religion or race. The US Supreme Court took up an unusual – but important – civil rights case on whether to ban on using race-based affirmative action in college admissions in Michigan violates the equal protection rights of minorities.
Michigan is no stranger to controversy over affirmative action. More than a decade ago, white students challenged race-conscious admissions programs at the University of Michigan and the University of Michigan Law School. In 2003, the Supreme Court struck down the university’s affirmative action program for relying too heavily on race. At the same time the high court upheld the law school’s program.
Now you tell me if this is fair or not???

Summmarization of the Abraham Lincoln Second Inaugural Address

On the day of March 4, 1865 Abraham Lincoln was admitted into his second Inaugural Address. His speech was overwhelming but yet serious. The purpose of the speech  was to inform the nation of the problems of South and the North face with the Civil War.

Slavery was a very important issue for the Civil War. The South wanted to continue and expand the territories of the slaves, while the North wanted slavery to be abolished and not expanded. Both sides thought that they could have their way but as Abraham Lincoln stated only God may judge someone else. American Slavery is one of the offenses, in providence of God, must needs come but which having continued through his  appointed time.God has a will to remove the war that the North and South created.

I believed that their was no cause for the slavery period. Abraham Lincoln proudly disagreed with it and made the Emancipation Proclamation official. He wanted peace amongst the nations and between ourselves.

Racial Profiling

Racial profiling is law enforcement and private security practice that disproportionately target people because of their ethnicity for investigation and enforcement. For example, airport officials pulled someone aside and questioned him before allowing him to board a plane simply because he’s a Muslim American, and they thought he might be a terrorist. Just because he is Muslim does it make it right for you to assume him as a terrorist?

From my prior knowledge I learned that The Fourteenth Amendment states, very clearly, that no state may "deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." Racial profiling is  based on a standard of unequal protection. Blacks and Latinos are more likely to be searched by police and less likely to be treated as law-abiding citizens; whites are less likely to be searched by police and more likely to be treated as law-abiding citizens. This is incompatible with the concept of equal protection.

Racial profiling continues to be a prevalent and gross form of discrimination in the United States. This unjust practice remains a stain on American democracy.Refereeing back to paragraph one :since September 11, 2001, new forms of racial profiling have affected a growing number of people of color in the U.S., including members of Muslim, Arab, and South Asian communities. The Obama administration has inherited a shameful legacy of racial profiling codified in official FBI guidelines and a notorious registration program that treats Arabs and Muslims as suspects and denies them the presumption of innocence and equal protection under the law.

Policies and practices have wrought destruction on individuals, families and communities, tearing them apart through unjust detentions, raids and more. It is hard for critics to trust the American society with ethnicity and cultures. This is why they continue to discriminate and profile them. One can make a mistake but why blame the entire society or ethnic group on that one event. Yes, we face adversity but maybe we will better ourselves to treat each other equally.

Should We Abolish Grading

Abolishing grading can either be beneficial or substandard.  Grading is an option for schools to predict what a student would make on a test or should we forget about grading and continue ahead with standardized testing.

Students across the country would agree to abolish grading for lagging reasons such as being lazy or apathetic. I personally think that grading should stay in the schools. When we begin school learning should occur naturally. Students choose if they are willing to learn or if they want to place restrictions on their education.

Every school has an academic standard. Usually test determine if a student is performing well in school. Meanwhile I depend on my grading and academic scores to see how well I am carrying out. I use my grades as an guide to improve my scores. For most people grading is basically a waist of time; in the future schools are most likely to leer into our test scores.

Schools across the nation only look at test scores. Ivy League schools have a reputation to withhold and a real academic student would have an outstanding test score, but for me I have to better my testing skillsin order to improve my testing scores. I have the grades of a semi genius but when I take test I tend to perform on a proficient level rather than advanced.

After reading " A Proposal to Abolish Grading," by Paul Goodman, I've learned so many different perspectives of  the subject. For instance some think that grading is nullifying the various use of testing. Paul Goodman stated that "testing for student and teacher would mean structuring and finding the weakness in the student." This could definitely be taken for granted. In my opinion this is very unfair. A child should be tested on the ability of improvement not the mistakes on a test. this will only make the situation for the student worse because they would feel like giving up and think that the test is worthless , so what would be the point for grading .

This may be a hard decision but it takes deep thinking and we have to think about the future and what it would be like for others if grading was really ABOLISHED.

Better Decisions

Better Decisions

Have you ever just sat down and thought about the aspects of life? Do you sometimes take things for granted? Do you learn from your mistakes and make better decisions? Or do we continue to make those same mistakes in our lifetime.

Sometimes we wish we could go back in time and make better decisions. If a time machine really exist our world would be so perfect. I can just go back in time and correct everything mistake I ever made. I know that mistakes I make in life are meant to be. I learn and I better myself.

Sickness came upon a family member and I realized that I can't take my life for granted. He is now doing better but still facing the difficulties of this unknown sickness. Now I have the chance to visit and comfort him like I should have.  I, Tatyanta will live life to the fullest and make the best of it. I now accomplish challenges to the best of my abilities. Tragedies can change your thoughts and actions and it certainly did for me. I always hear that your fate is determined by your actions. It is absolutely true. Take my advice and make mistakes and then learn from them. Most of all always remember the one who are with you throughout your journey.

Remembering a Leader

The anniversary for Martin Luther King march has been very popular. Do you think our leaders today carry on his dream?

I personally think that Martin Luther King's dream has partially came true. He wanted for us to be free and not discriminated against. He wanted to make a change in the community and society. In today's world some people use their race as an excuse for not succeeding. We look at the past events of the harm and danger that African Americans faced. I look into the future and dream of a better world. A world with joy. A world with equality. Just like our civil rights leaders wanted. Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King wanted the best for us. I can truly believe that its not to late to change your ways.Work hard and go for what you want. Your age, gender, race, or ethnicity should not matter. You are a human being with a dream.
